This is the companion tablature and notation book for Chris Ramey’s “West Virginia Girls” banjo collection, which includes five traditional fiddle tunes from the Library of Congress Henry Reed recordings and one original composition. All songs were arranged and performed by Chris Ramey. This book is intended for intermediate to advanced clawhammer banjoists. Chris recommends clawhammer banjo instructional materials from Ken Perlman, Bob Carlin or Miles Krassen. This book contains five original solo melodic clawhammer banjo arrangements of four traditional tunes: "West Virginia Girls," "Ducks In The Pond," "Rocky Mountain Goat," "West Virginia Gals (If You Want To Go A Courtin)", and "Cluck Old Hen." Chris also composed an original work for this release, entitled "Rocky Mountain Locust," after the infamous and now-extinct swarming insect of the American West. All "West Virginia Girls" songs are available for licensing through Herban Insurgent Publishing, LLC (ASCAP).
